Looking for the perfect place to jump out of a plane? Look no further than Cockerham Airfield. Located in the heart of Lancashire and not too from the sea, you will be treated to most the spectacular views for miles and miles.
This training centre is one the longest running in the UK, so the team at Cockerham Airfield really know their stuff. The airfield was established in 1964 and is under the same ownership and stewardship as it was on day one. With its excellent facilities and a top team, you can see why it’s one of the busiest dropzones in the North West.
At this fabulous venue you have the choice between two types of skydive. Choose between the exhilarating Static Line and the popular Tandem Skydive.
Static Line jumps take place around 3,500ft and you’ll be jumping solo. You simply make a poised exit from the plane. As you fall away, the deployment of the main canopy is initiated by a ‘static line’ attached to the aircraft – The fastest way to jump solo on your first day.
An alternative to Static Line is the Tandem skydive. Your morning will start with 20-minute ground training session, before you’re strapped to your fully trained instructor via a harness. These guys and girls are the professionals, so you know that you’re in safe hands! Make your exit from the aircraft at altitudes up to a dizzying 11,000ft, remember to lap up that 10 seconds of fall free before the parachute is deployed.
Whichever jump you pick, take to the skies in the stunning Cessna Grand Caravan Black 207b. This aircraft can climb up to 11,000ft within 12 minutes, so you won’t be hanging around for long.
A tremendous way to sample to skies, and a choice of experiences to give you memories that will last a lifetime!
