A qualified instructor will train you on how to operate your Segway and then it is off to the track, where you can enjoy the twists and turns of the different terrains. To make sure each and every experience creates the most memorable moments at the highest quality, we have our own team test them as often as we can.
Upon arrival at the lovely Grafham Water we found the Segway pod located behind the bike rental station and filled in a short health and safety questionnaire. We were 20 minutes ahead of the start time so we were able to watch the previous group finish up their session and get some tips. Once everyone had arrived, there were 7 people in our group, we were kitted out with the safety gear, elbow and knee pads and a helmet, and given a thorough safety briefing. We were then allocated a Segway and given some short one-to-one instruction to make us comfortable with controls of the machine. We went forwards, backwards, around some cones and come to a controlled stop. Finding your balance and keeping the Segway still is much harder than it looks! Then the fun begins, we were spilt into two teams and given a number of games to complete which helped build your confidence even further. Then we went out on the trail with the instructor across a number of different terrains, you could really get your speed up at this point (although they are limited for safety reasons) so you were always in control.
What did your experience entail?
My friend and I went to Hinchingbrooke Country Park, Huntingdon for our Segway Thrill. After registering, we were given helmets and a safety briefing with some helpful tips. Our friendly instructor asked us to go on the Segway one-by-one so we could learn the basics such as steering and stopping. I'd never been on a Segway prior to my experience, so I had mixed feelings of nervousness and excitement! It felt strange at first using my bodyweight to control the Segway, but practice makes perfect and the more we got to move around, the less wobbly I felt! We were then divided into groups and played some games which we thoroughly enjoyed. These were a perfect warm-up exercise and helped to build our confidence before heading out onto the woodlands track. It was exciting taking the Segway around the track, which was a bit bumpy in places, but that is what made it more fun! I felt at ease knowing I could control the speed of the Segway and the instructor was close by if we needed any assistance. Hinchingbrooke Country Park was very scenic, and the weather was also on our side which was a bonus! I would go on a Segway again and completing this experience has given me the confidence to do this in the future.
What did you enjoy the most?
Playing the games was my favourite part of this experience, especially the last one where we had to do squats on the Segway and then hold our arms out as we came back - I was laughing at myself. It was also fun to share this with my friend and try something completely new, as well as enjoying the outdoors. Hinchingbrooke Park itself was beautiful and looks like a delightful place to explore.

Segway Mote Park
The segway was fun. The games allowed time to get used to using it. The track area was relatively small, so became repetitive in the time.

Exhilaration at its best
I took my mum.
We had fun with the practice runs, the games (I don't normally like games), but this helped us get used to the Segway.
We absolutely loved it. Especially the freedom around the woods, where we went off in our own directions (within a specific area) and I had to hunt mum down on occasion because I'm pretty sure she'd have segwayed away given the chance... she's 75 and felt exhilarated afterwards and still does. We both smiled throughout.
There was a girl there who really didn't like it, was a bit wobbly and slow... she got better and enjoyed herself, coming back laughing.
Excellent and as exciting as you make it.

Segway Fun
My friend and I had a fantastic time in the Bristol location which was beautiful. Neither of us had ever done this before and were a bit nervous about falling off as we are both 60. The instructors were brilliant and we were soon riding around the practice area. After everyone was confident the group followed our Instructor around the stunning Ashton Court Park. I would certainly recommend this experience to both family and friends and am looking forward to booking another session.

Such a fun experience
This was a fun experience where we mastered how to use a segway. We had a lesson and then some practical exercises. I wished we got more of the nature around us which includes us being around a lake. Instead we were in a closed up woodland area. Maybe a trip to certain locations would have tempted me more once I learned how to use a segway.
There was an opportunity to get some professional photographs but my partner misunderstood the price list deals and we ended up not buying any. It wasn't clear what you get for your money and if £20 is worth it for a few portraits that you can achieve using a phone these days.
Overall it was fun but I wish there was something else to keep my interest to come back again.
