What did your experience entail?
I visited Pure Spa in Peterborough which is based in the David Lloyd Leisure Club. It was very easy to find and has a large car park that is free to use. There was a warm welcome on arrival, and I discussed my treatment preferences with Ellie while filling in my paperwork. Not all Pure Spas offer all treatments, so I could not opt for reflexology or Hopi ear candles but that was fine, as I enjoyed a salt scrub, back neck, & shoulder massage and a facial.
Before my treatments I was given an hour's use of the leisure club facilities including swimming pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. The large pool has dedicated lanes for fast swimmers, but half was still open for the more leisurely paddler! This was a great way to start relaxing before my treatments. Although Pure do not offer robes and slippers anymore, due to the impact on the environment of the cleaning processes, they did offer me a towel to take the leisure club and use of a locker.
I headed back to the Spa in plenty of time to enjoy the relaxation room and have a fruit tea and some water before Ellie came to collect me. There is a good cafe on site too, with both indoor and outdoor seating which you can make use of.
The treatment room was spacious and relaxing with an ensuite shower to use after my salt scrub.
The whole experience was not rushed, and the Spa was very quiet and relaxing despite the pool area and gym being quite busy.
I would certainly go back due to the quality of the treatments and the friendless of the staff.
What did you enjoy the most?
The treatments, although I cannot decide which one! The salt scrub was lovely, but the massage was excellent, and I could certainly feel the benefits if it. But then again, the facial was a very relaxing way to end my treatment time. I felt as though I should look 10 years younger, but sadly not!
