Initially I was delighted to receive the adopt an animal gift, I chose to adopt a donkey as there is a chance to visit the sanctuary if you are able to travel to or be in Oxfordshire . After registering ,a tin arrived containing 4 A5 bits of printed paper, 1A4 printout listing the titles of afore mentioned bits of paper and the other 3 items in the tin ( an A3 sized pink poster containing 7 donkey facts and silhouettes of donkeys , a leaflet about the donkeys at the sanctuary and a postcard) .5 of these items state in small print that approximately 10% of the r.r.p of this gift is donated to the sanctuary providing the recipient registers their gift. it also states that it is a novelty gift and should be treated as such, Nowhere is this apparent at point of sale. I would say to any body planning to make a gift of this type look up a local sanctuary and make your donation direct to them, most will give a gift receipt and 100% of your payment will go towards the animals in their care.
